Must-have Spring shoes and bags
Spring 2012 is all about blocks of colour and striking designs, but not for clothes. The fashion gods have decreed that this spring, less is more when it comes to colour at least. Pale floaty materials and neutral palettes are the order of the day but set off by bold handbags and shoes.
Although kitten heels are making a welcome comeback, tall chunky platforms in a wearable sporty style are also the footwear to be seen in.
Chunky ?
Or slim heel?
When it comes to handbags UK women love to accessorise; after all, it doesn’t matter how much you weigh when it comes to picking a fabulous clutch and this season is all about the bags, jewellery and shoes to make the outfit. With the clothes making you a pale princess, you will need the extras to inject that bit of pizzazz into your style.

Does Pale Make You Pall?
Light coloured clothing can be difficult to pull off, depending on what garments you pick and your overall shape. Clingy items in light colours can be very unforgiving even to the most sylph-like figures. If this is the case, rather than opting for an all-over effect, use your shoes and handbag to give the nod to the trend.
Pale Colours are key for summer 2012
Put it on your wish list
A number of designers have opted for this approach with Chloe offering a gorgeous, gentle toffee-toned crocodile clutch and Philip Lim showcasing a pair of ice-blue pastel, open toed block heels. Even Chanel has got in on the act with a pair of beige coloured sunglasses adorned with crystals.
Pearly Queens
When it comes to jewellery, pretty much anything goes as long as it’s loud, proud and designed to get you noticed! Depending on whether you choose the all over colourless approach or the more subtle neutral accessories, it will determine whether you select bright or natural colour jewellery.
Big is best according to the designers, with single stone oversized pendants being the accessory to be seen in, regardless of colour.
Over sized necklaces or vintage style are the order of the day
However, the one stone making an appearance everywhere is the pink pearl. Whether you go for an attention-grabbing ring, a jangly bracelet or an oversized pendant, the pink pearl is this season’s must-have. If you have opted for the neutral accessories, it will complement beige and pastel tones beautifully.
Exotic Skins or Lace But Not Both
Snake print
Lace
When it comes to your handbag, you’ve got two main choices this season; you either go very bright or gentle and romantic with lace trimmed offerings. The designers have gone wild with exotically coloured skins, a twist on the classic crocodile skin handbags. Orange and green are the new colours seen on the catwalk whilst purple and red continue their rejuvenation.
Green
Neutral
If a kaleidoscope of colour isn’t your thing, the slightly more refined choice displayed at the shows was the lace effect. Everyone from Prada through to Valentino had a lace handbag in their collection with some including a frilly lace clutch and others jazzing up a more functional satchel with the trim.

Going for Bronze
No outfit is complete without make-up to match and this season, the look is tannedÖfaked of course. Using a tinted moisturizer on cheeks and bronze eyelids and lips will give a gorgeous glow that will set off the neutrals in your overall style.

The Pointy shoe

When I heard that kitten heels were back on the fashion radar I wanted to pack my bags and move to Alaska were I could live happily in a pair of boots for the next few seasons! Then I heard there was a new shoe on the block! What is the latest ‘IT’ shoe I hear you cry? We are of course talking about the Pointy shoe!

Starlets such as Alexa and Rosie know it’s a hot look

Now you might be wondering how you can incorporate these lady like 1980′s power shoes into your wardrobe? Well just check out the Balmain models as they manage to make pointy lady like shoes look cool and edgy.

Another great way to give these ladylike stilettos have a laid back feel is to wear them with the world’s most rebellious denim cut-The Levis cult 501′s. Wear them boyfriend style with turned ups. The pointy shoe can make a great job for leg lengthening but the trick is to have a little slice of ankle on show and you are good to go!

Let me know your comments girls? Do you like Pointy shoes? How will you be wearing yours?♥

Joules…The new jewel of the country side.

Today I was on my way to my second office…Starbucks! When I noticed ‘a new Kid on the block’. I stopped and stared. I recognised that name…Joules, they were an on line company I thought?

I ventured in side the store to be greeted by two delightful girls who took great pleasure in telling me the history of Mr Tom Joules! The company started off years ago when Mr Tom  used to sell his quirky and slightly wacky  pieces at Equestrian, market and flower shows to begin with.

Then the tragic out break of ‘Foot and Mouth’ struck the British country side and all the market shows stopped. Mr J didn’t let this stop  his growing Empire and it was around that time that he took  his collections  forward, by managing to secure concessions of his brand  into  large stores through out  the UK.  So yes, you will also recognise the Joules brand in John Lewis, Fenicks and such like. His army continued to grow and around 2003 Joules launched their website for online shopping.

Now the brand have branched out again and are opening their own shops. They will have 40 by Christmas.

I feel so at home in this beautiful ‘British’ style shop. I love all the quirky touches that make it classic but with that something special. That’s what Joules clothes are all about. They are brilliant at reinventing the classics. Their collections are all about effortless style. The basics that everyone needs in their wardrobe can be found here…only reinvented. On my wish list…the one that is continuing to grow!!!! Is pieces from The Equestrian collection. I can see myself walking the dog in ‘The Chase waxed jacket’….Oh I forgot- I don’t have a dog! Ok well I can see myself going for long walks in the beautiful country looking every bit the part in my new Joules collection.

The great thing about when you buy any of their pieces is you can rest assured that your money will be well spent on clothes that will not be one hit wonders! You will get miles and miles of use out of them..Go on I dare you to go inside and not come out without a carrier bag….

When I saw that the kitten heel was on the returned I screamed “Nooooo!” These little shoes can be tricky to wear my friends! You have been warned! Unless you were blessed with legs that are pencil thin, then Spy suggests you steer clear of them if you are looking for a style to elongate your legs! Another little tip is if you hate your calf’s then hide them under the hot new look of boots with socks! Men will go weak at the knees when they see this AW trend!!

Here is a little taster of what you need to look out for if you want to be one foot ahead….

Stilettos are higher and higher and spikier and uber sexy but there are impressive square heels around too. Thank the Lord that Spy’s best-friend the platform is still going strong in the form of boots and shoes.

There are seasonal clogs, moccasins, Riding boots and thigh highs continue their irresistible rise.

The big suprise is the sophisticated ultra refined style that is dominating the runways.

There is Lot’s of texture in the Materials being used so look out for:- Fine grained, patent leathers, tweed, lace, faux fur and  flashes of monogram, leopard spots, and bows.

Marc Jacobs revives the fine slipper worn once upon a time in the 50′s. Louis Vuitton developed classic elegance with a vintage feel.

Right all you Cinderellas out there…Forget Prince charming he doesn’t exist!! Butttttttttt there are some wonderful glass slippers out there! So what are you waiting for…. go try them all on!!!!

Here’s some more scrumptious photos  of  some of the shoes and boots walking around this Autumn/winter 2010
