Nail art is now big business. Carefully painting on those tricky white lines are becoming a thing of the past these days as the French manicure is slowly drying up.

It’s all about the wow factor these days, even Alexa Chung who is more of a ‘A la natural’ girl has been spotted sporting some unusual paw prints! It really is art work when you study some of the designs.Check out one girl who did a different look for every day of the week…

Riva-Chanel’s Hottest nail colour for Summer 2011

CHANEL’S ‘IT’ NAIL POLISH FOR SUMMER 2011

Riva made it’s debut at the resort show when all the models wore it on their fingers, and toes earlier this year.

IT’S A ‘SPECIAL’ BLUE

Love! Love! Loveeeeeeee!

You will Want! Want! Wantttt!!!!

Chanel is on a roll with the launch of yet another nail polish, the rumours are it’s already sold out!  For those of you that know Spy…You will know my love of the color blue! When I first saw this nail polish painted on both the hands and and toes of the Chanel models doing what they do best on the runways, I knew I would never rest until I got my hands on a bottle!! Thanks to the lovely people at Chanel HQ who took pity on me and sent me my very own bottle! I’m going to use it sparingly as I need to save enough to see me through an exotic holiday this summer!

Chanel Model wearing it on the St Tropez Runway show

It really is such a beautiful glossy, shiny baby blue colour that reminds me of The Tiffany blue! Now every girl loves the colour of  a Tiffany box or bag! It’s almost like an eggshell blue that will look fantastic on your toe nails. Team it with perfectly pedicured toe nails, tan shoes, denim hot pants and a simple Tee to look effortlessly chic darlings!! Oh one last thing…GOOD LUCK with the search! Let me know if you manage to get your hands on a bottle or send me your comments on what you think about the color? Love Jeanie ♥

Bronde the trendiest hair colour!

The hottest new hair color trend is brunette with blonde, sun-kissed highlights (dubbed “bronde” by celebrity stylist Kim Vo).

A new trend? No, not really. Hot, yes! Bronde is great because it’s flexible. You can adjust your base color, the amount of highlights, and the degree of contrast in your highlights.

There is a shade of bronde for every skin tone, and it’s a simple color to maintain. It grows out well on almost any shade of natural hair color, and is minimally damaging to the hair. Should you consider bronde this season?                                                 JENNIFER ANISTON

Jennifer  Aniston was the girl who put this hair colour on the Map! So she is queen of the Bronde!  The trendiest shademidway between blonde and brunette. Remember you read it here first! Check out  these Bronde beauties…

ASHLEY OLSEN

JENNIFER LOPEZ

Spy has been a Bronde for years! I love the fact that you can change easy from Blonde to Brunette by adjusting the amount of high lights you have put in your hair. I usually go blonder in the summer months and a little darker in the winter months. I sooo love this look because it’s like sitting on the fence. You’re not all blonde and then you’re not a full blown brunette either! You can remain in both camps!! Result!

Bring back the beehive

Bring back the beehive

Up-dos have been seen all over the catwalks this year; loose buns, classic ponytails and towering quiffs. Now we are bringing back the beehive for that uber sophisticated old school glamour that will give you that effortlessly cool look that every girl will want.

The beehive appears to be a tricky style to tame; keeping the height on your hive takes a little practice but once you’ve mastered it you can reuse the style time and time again. Think more Charlize Theron, less Amy Winehouse.

Texture is the key here, so you don’t necessarily have to have perfectly straight hair to carry this off. It is better to add some waves and curls to your hair with a pair of  hair straighteners if your hair is straight. Work a little mousse through your tresses and then pull your hair forward.

Work through hair gradually by pulling it back to its normal position, gently back combing as you go, this will create maximum volume so you can achieve maximum height.

Begin to pin hair into a chignon and leave the majority of it upright on top of your head. You should be able to gently tease it backward slightly into the beehive shape. Caress your locks into place and don’t be too hasty because you want your hair to stay big and beautiful not fall flat.

If you have a fringe or short layers around your face, a wide patent headband looks great with a beehive but our favourite look is all of your hair swept up high, and for this you will need hair spray and plenty of it – but don’t go so crazy that your hair looks unnatural and matted. You want your hair to still look shiny and healthy, despite the fact you have backcombed it.

Defy gravity with lesser amounts of a super strong spray and top up every now and then as needed.

Visit the ghd website to find tips on hair styles.

Here are Spy’s new hair straighteners and life would be soooo difficult without them! GHD’s are King!!!!

The Professional Beauty show

It’s not all about clothes and accessories darrrrlings! If  from the neck upwards you don’t take care of yourself girls,  then your face alone can make or break your outfit!!

The Professional Beauty show is all about the  latest innovations, masterclasses and uncovering secrets on what really happens behind the closed doors of spa treatment rooms!  I like to call it ’ The Mechanics ‘-men need  tools to fix their cars…well us girls like our beauty products to make the most of ourselves!!

Spy trotted off to The PB show which is held in Manchester/London every year to check out the unmissable opportunity to sample and preview the latest buzz in whats ’hot’ from hundreds of beauty industry exhibitors. ispyed for you cutting-edge new products, expert make-up tutorials and amazing anti-ageing gadgets- and you didn’t have to  leave the comfort of your sofa!

SPY’s tried and tested:-

 BEST IN SHOW:-

The last few seasons has all been about ‘Hair extensions’ -but imagine having longer fuller perfect lashes? Well girls your dream has come true! LASH PERFECT eyelash extensions are semi-permanent lasting up to 8-12 weeks with maintenance every 3 weeks. I’ve tried fiddly stick on lashes, regular individual stick on lashes-but nothing looks as fantastic as these little beauties!

I had a quick consultation with the lovely ‘Charlotte’ my eyelash guru! I explained that I prefered the more natural look and liked a hint of a corner sweep ‘a La Audrey Hepburn style’!  I have to say the whole 1hour experience was comfortable and relaxing. After almost falling asleep despite hundreds of  lookers on viewing my new lashes, I was handed a mirror to check out my new instantly glamorous look!! OMG!!! They are amazing-they look and feel so natural - yet my eyes have a new charm! I want to flutter and wink at everyone!! A full set costs anything upwards of £90-120 and then the infills you need are around £25 every 2-3 weeks. To find the nearest salon in your area just go to www.lashperfect.co.uk

FAKE BAKE:-I Loveeee this fake tan brand! I love fake tan full stop as it’s the one beauty routine that really does do what it say’s on the tin! The right colour tan makes you look prettier, glowing with health and your clothes look far sexier on you! Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussy Cat dolls said “Fake Bake is the best colour I have ever had”. I sooo want to look like a Pussy Cat doll!! Spy agrees with Nicole andthe girls from ’The Saturday’ that it gives a wonderful deep olive not orange hue!

I would like to give a hugeeeeeee thanks to the very brave Sophie for demonstrating to you the before and after results!! Check out the ‘white’ line which shows you the contrast of  Sophie’s original skin colour after two coats of FB.(It would take you 2 weeks of frying in the sun to achieve these results not to mention the damage to your fragile skin) . Look how Sophie’s eyes sparkled after her spray tan!

Spy’s tried and tested ‘Flawless’ is a great build up tanner. It’s easy to apply as it’s a brown in colour(no tell-tale mistakes) has a lovely tropical smell and my favourite part ” It does not clog pores” Hallelujah!!!!! The other thing I like about their tan products are that the  mit and gloves comes as part of the set-Result! You might also like to try their new instant Tanners like ’Perfection’, ‘Bronzer’ and ‘shimmer’ that give a great colour and coverage but without the commitment or if like me you like to achieve tan a deeper colour!

Nails were as usual a huge feature at the show. There were hundreds of students taking part in the PB competitions. Nail art is massive at the moment. You’ve heard of Minx, the must-have printed nail transfers that Katy Perry and Lily Allen are huge fans of. Well , now you can do it yourself  with instant stick on nail designs! Think of it as the perfect accessory to an outfit- another way to help you to complete your look.  Spy caught up with Emily Booth who matched perfectly with Spy’s business card- sporting her purple Leopard nail design!  Carly Price was modeling the silver wraps..Thanks girls!

This new form of nail polish is every girls answer to a long lasting fashion manicure. It’s a form of nail wrap and it stretches over your nails and you just heat it with a little heat from the hairdryer. It’s a bit fiddly at first but take it from Spy-it’s worth it!

You know how I keep banging on about how cool I think tattoo’s are at the moment- don’t take my word for it ask Chanel! They are featuring models in their ad campaigns with body art on display.I picked my design from ‘Kenji Tattoo Art’. What I liked about their products was that the ink does not produce allergic reactions in the skin which other of formulas types can. You can buy this tattoo as a stencil and put it on any part of your body whenever you like. It normally lasts for a few days at a time.

How about having your own custom built spa tank containing Garra Ruffa fish. Otherwise known as ‘Doctor fish’ the fish gently nibble away at the dead skin on your feet giving you a pedicure and leaving your feet silky smooth!! I want one in my dressing room!! So that’s it for another year! If you have any beauty or fashion dilemas then get in touch with me or join me http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001119967882#!/pages/ispyfashion/127388390607116

It’s by Chanel – of course – it’s called Paradoxal and  cost  £15.00.  Just like its sell-out predecessors Jade and Particulaire, it seems set to be the subject of many a waiting list.

Perfume trends

Fresh baked bread, the smell of the seaside. It’s often the little things-a taste, a smell, a texture that re-ignites memories. Scientist have discovered our senses are stimulated while we’re undergoing an emotional experience and sound, taste or smell is locked into the memory.

Chanel N5, L’Air Du Temps, Posion,Anais Anais,Opium, Angel, CK one, Rive Gauche, Coco, Beautiful,J’adore,Eau Dynamisante,Shalimar, Joy Blue grass,Lime Basil and Mandarin…These are the Top selling perfumes of all time and the reason behind this is because for many people they keep going back to their favourites as they hold memories.

Perfume is thousands of years old and the word Perfume comes from the Latin per fume which means ‘through smoke’. One of the oldest uses of perfume comes from the burning of incense and herbs. The Egyptians were the first to use perfume in their culture, they also invented glass and perfume bottles!!

Right that’s your History lesson over…Lets talk about what scents make you feel younger? Sexier? And what men really think about our choices!

When a group of men were polled on what they liked they answered with ‘Just out of the shower’,’ like the girl next door..natural’, ‘Something that smells expensive and sophisticated’, ‘If it’s got a kick..reminds me of a girl with attitude’

Then the negative feedback was ‘smelt powdery..like your grandmother’ ( Spy’s tip is if the bottle is  on your Nan’s dressing table then it shouldn’t be on yours! Sorry Nan! ‘Too fruity and sugary which makes them think of the candy store and kitchen…not the bedroom!

Here’s some of the best to see you through 2010!

We all have many different facets to our personality; this is the world of D&G,” declare Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who launched the  five-strong Fragrance Anthology.

With  original 90s supermodels including Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova fronting this campaign you can be sure that D&G’s Fragrance Anthology is ever so glamorous.

Designed to allow the ultimate in fragrance self-expression, these scents were inspired by the game of Tarot, with each representing a different personality. Choose from provocative Le Baleteur (The seducer), irrepressible L’Imperatrice(The diva), sensual L’Amoureux( The Charmer), daring La Roue de la Fortune or hypnotising La Lune….Spy’s favourite as it’s for The dreamer!!

D&G Anthology fragrances, £35 each for 100ml Eau de Toilette DebenhamsGarden Pharmacy

HERMES -EAU DES MERVEILLES This fragrances notes are commonly found in men’s cologne! It is unique in that it is feminine but with a strong woodsy (I think it is oak or cedar) tone to it. It isn’t heavy though, in fact it is very light, very clean, subtly floral, subtly spicy and oaky. All in all, a modern and unique fragrance. It’s one of Spy’s favourites!

Benefit‘s cute Crescent Rowis a trio of fragrances each named after a character who embodies that scent. They are very girly, and adorable cute bottles will make a youthful addition to your dressing table.  All in all, a modern and unique fragrances with a similar idea to D&G’s Anthology. What’s right for work: Missoni Acqua, is a buoyant yet stylish scent, with notes of bergamot, melon, peony, and what perfumers call “sole,” which is meant to evoke the sun hitting the water. Don’t save this for a holiday, go treat yourself today! Garden Pharmacy

Just in case you are inquisitive like moi…The  most expensive perfume in the World is by Clive Christian ‘Imperial Majesty’ . Priced at $215,000 for 16.90z, the bottle is as lavishly adorned . The bottles come with a brilliant cut white diamond of five carat and an 18-carat gold collar! I’ll just take the diamond pleeeease! 5 Carat Emmerald cut I’m hoping?

The Chanel tattoo

Chanel tattoos

What do you think? For the obsessive Chanel lovers like moi, if you are thinking of getting a tattoo I say go for the Chanel transfer which was seen on the spring 2010 catwalk. It’s fun yet still manages to feel a little bit sophisticated.

A set of 55 individual tattoos cost £55, thank heaven this purchase didn’t  send me out to work double time! I do wish though that the legs in the photo came with them as I would have payed soooo much more!
I know the idea behind having a tattoo is so it is unique to you, something that perhaps has your own stamp on it. But|the reason they appealled to me is because you can play with them and make them your own. You can mix up your own design with the clever body art. They can be worn to look like a leather wrap around your wrist, or you can put a chain of pearls around your neck . They also have the discreet interlocking Cs transfere in the collection-the famous Chanel logo. The only down side is at £55 you might not want to wash as much?
Ps I’m liking the tattoos next to Chanels nail polish de joir.

Accent nails

May 2, 2010 by Jeanie Lanz-Bergin

Neutral nails are the polish de Jour. Gray-beige nail polish is the way to be chic this spring/summer. It was like a frenzy at every Chanel counter as ladies went crazy to get their fingers on hold of their dreamy new best selling colour ‘Particuliere’. I felt like I had won the lottery when I managed to get hold of my very own bottle!

2009 was dominated by black and navy blue, 2010 shades are more earthy like ChinChilly(Essie) to Charcoal and every colour in between. Purple grey with a touch of taupe (Sephora’sMetro chic) is also selling out fast and is  definitely worth searching for.

Have you heard about the other nail trend? Its the accent nail! I am not convinced about this trend. If you don’t get your colours right it could end up looking like you forgot to paint one of your finger nails! I think you should accent one of your nails with a starwarski crystal. More subtle but still has impact. What do you think?  The photo with the model wearing Chanel has the silver nails with the accent nail in the orange/coral colour.
